Flora and vegetation.

The municipality Jimaguayú is constituted fundamentally for ecosystems of savannahs antrópicas that represent the (45,16 %) and characterize for the presence of natural and introduced Gramineae and trees insulated between the ones they stand out between the carob themselves (Samanea saman (Jacq.) Herr), the guásima (Guazuna ulmifolia Lam.) and the royal palm (royal Roystonea (H. B. k.) O.F.Cook). Areas also appear from pasturelands with undergrowths of different species although the most representative for the area that he occupies is the marabou (Dichrostachys cinereal (L.) The forests are restricted to a part of the saw of Maraguán, north of the municipality that represents the 5.8 % of the municipality and to the Hill from Ulcers to the reservoir Jimaguayú southwest of the territory, still they preserve values of the flora. The intense human activity developed in the municipality has resulted in the presence of several sorts of exotic plants, some making good use of the open spaces dedicated to the cattle raising and other ones transferred with the own cattle.

Fauna.
